CAPS Balance Testing
CAPS (Computerized Assessment of Postural Stability) balance testing is used as part of Dr. Burdorf’s evaluation to assess postural stability. This is a valuable device to identify fall risks and monitor progress of rehabilitation.

Why should I get a computerized assessment of postural systems, (CAPS) evaluation?
Force Platform Balance Tests provide valid information of postural control that can be used to predict falls risk even among older people without apparent balance problems or fall history. Most falls can be prevented with early identification, assessment and treatment.
How long does the test take?
The CAPS balance testing takes less than two minutes. The system Dr. Burdorf utilizes in his office is called CAPS from Vestibular Technologies. This simple noninvasive test measures your sway patterns from your center of pressure. Falls can be prevented in all age groups with intervention therapy and exercises, and in order to prescribe the proper therapy and exercises, the patterns need to be identified.
