Is There Hope For Treating Parkinson’s Disease?
Parkinson’s is one of 20 diagnosed movement disorders. A recent study has shown that Elevated systolic blood pressure predicts worsening motor function among patients with Parkinson’s disease, according to research presented at the 68th Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Neurology.
Parkinson’s disease impacts people in many different ways. Not everyone will experience all of the symptoms of Parkinson’s, and if they do, they won’t necessarily experience them in quite the same order, or at the same level of intensity. Even so, there are typical patterns of progression in Parkinson’s disease that are defined in 5 stages. In some people, it could take 20 years to go through these stages. In others, the disease progresses more quickly.
My recommendation is to seek evaluation and treatment when symptoms develop in the first 3 stages as vestibular and cerebellar based exercises along with proper nutrition can slow, stop and possibly reverse the progression of this horrible disease.
If you or someone you know is starting to show symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease, it would be important to seek professional help quickly. To set a time for a free consultation with Dr. Burdorf, call his office at 480-951-5006, or set an appointment here.
