Falls-Related Deaths Rising

February 7, 2022 by Dr Mark B Burdorf

A Chance to Live Longer

Falls-Related Death Rose 31%

Decrease your fall risk by daily eye exercisesI have Good News and Bad News.

The Bad News:

According to the CDC, Falls-Related Deaths in the US Rose 31% in 10 Years.

This data was released in 2018 for US residents ages 65 and older. The rate of death from falls continues to climb steadily, having increased by 31% between 2007 and 2016. The latest statistics are included in a report from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

It is estimated that 80,546 deaths were due to unintentional falls in 2019. That number has risen in past years. Keep in mind that this data is pre-Covid and the pandemic.  In my opinion, the data showing unintentional falls after quarantining in home and a loss of physical activity will show skyrocketing of statistics for 2020 and 2021 when released.

And the Good News?

There’s help available to help decrease this risk. You can decrease your risk of death from falling by improving your posture, strengthening your neck, and improving brain function! This can be done with an activity that will take you only 7 minutes a day.

Stacking Your Exercise Routine for your own needs.

Our practice incorporates Right Eye Diagnostics and the Focus Builder App to customize a daily exercise routine. In neuro rehabilitation, we call it “Stacking”. Stacking means we combine several exercises into a single routine for maximal health benefit and efficiency of your time. These are designed for specific and individual needs.

This program has been successfully used by people of all types. It has been used by professional combat athletes, as well as those that may be missing an arm or a leg. We create an activity for you that you can safely do at home.

Ignoring injuries will not make them go away.

Ignoring spine and brain injuries over time actually does not heal them. In fact, paying attention and getting help for them may also give you a chance to live longer.
