Tech Neck and Its Solution
You see it everywhere. In homes and offices, while walking down the street, riding the bus, or standing in line. “Tech neck,” the act of stressing muscles while using phones, tablets, and computers, resulting in neck and shoulder pain, stiffness, and soreness, is a problem that’s getting worse.
Last year, Americans spent a daily average of 5 hours and 53 minutes with digital media, including 3 hours, 17 minutes a day on non-voice activities on mobile devices — a jump of more than an hour since 2013, according to eMarketer.
What Can Be Done to Heal Tech Neck?
There are exercises that you can do to offset all that time spent hunched over your phone or other mobile devices. Our office uses RightEye diagnostics and FocusBuilder App to determine specific eye exercises stacked with balance and posture activities. Dr Burdorf’s 7-minute protocol will provide you the opportunity to have a stronger neck, better posture, and improved brain function by doing exercises that are specific to your needs.
Are All Exercises the Same for Everyone?
In the videos below, I will demonstrate some typical exercises. FYI, don’t try copying what I’m doing because these eye movements are specific for me (Dr. Burdorf). What is good for me may not be the right thing for you, and vice versa. The RightEye diagnostics picks up data the human naked eye can’t see on evaluation and provides information if you need to rehabilitate with a horizontal, vertical, diagonal, and correct direction eye movements. Doing the wrong eye exercise could give you a migraine or vertigo.
